Andrew Lauren


Andrew Lauren is the chairman of Andrew Lauren Productions, a production company that focuses on the production of stylistically groundbreaking film and television. Since the start of the company, Lauren conceived the story behind ALP’s feature G, a reinterpretation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s, The Great Gatsby. It premiered at the inaugural Tribeca Film Festival in New York City in May, 2002. He has also been a producer on several films including THE SQUID AND THE WHALE (2005), which was nominated for three golden globe awards including best picture and an academy award for best original screenplay. Lauren produced two documentaries, the first, THIS IS NOT A ROBBERY, premiered at the Tribeca film festival (2008) and sold to the Sundance Channel. The second, LIFE 2.0 premiered at the Sundance Film Festival (2010) and sold to Oprah’s Own network as part of her documentary club. In 2012, Andrew Lauren produced and fully financed THE SPECTACULAR NOW, which premiered at the Sundance film festival in 2013. The film has been described as “rare and truly soulful.”

D.J. Gugenheim


D.J. Gugenheim grew up in New York, Israel and Florida. At 16, Gugenheim moved to LA by himself and studied theater and business at UCLA where he won the Gilbert Cates award for outstanding production for a multimedia version of Fahrenheit 451. After graduating Gugenheim worked at a think-tank in DC, the Woodrow Wilson Center, and on Capitol Hill. Gugenheim returned to LA to work for filmmaker Joel Zwick (MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING) on FAT ALBERT. Gugenheim then went on to work at CAA and Paramount Vantage while they made THERE WILL BE BLOOD and NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN. He also ran development at Universal based Captivate Entertainment where he was the executive on multiple projects including BOURNE LEGACY. Before joining Andrew Lauren Productions in April 2015, D.J. was the Executive Vice President of Production of Lotus Entertainment where he Executive Produced KIDNAP as well as NOVEMBER CRIMINALS with Sacha Gervasi, Chloe Moretz and Ansel Elgort. Today, with Andrew Lauren Productions, D.J. is producing Claire Denis’s English Language debut, a sci-fi film with Robert Pattinson and Juliet Binoche as well as separate projects with José Padilha, Sam Esmail, Taylor Sheridan and Anne Hathaway. In 2014, St Martin’s Press published his debut book – SEXUAL FITNESS: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO PUMP WHILE YOU HUMP TONE WHILE YOU BONE AND SHRED IN THE BED.

Aaron Himmel

Director, Production & Finance

Originally from Great Neck, New York, Aaron Himmel majored in International Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. After working in film and TV production in New York, he moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Film Institute Conservatory where he produced several short films and received his MFA in producing. Upon graduation, he worked at Lotus Entertainment where he started as an assistant and worked his way up to running the financial models for the company’s films. He also coordinated the single picture loan closings for movies such as FALLEN, KIDNAP and NOVEMBER CRIMINALS. An avid world traveler, Himmel is fluent in French.
